Information on Optional Homestay and Airport Pickup Services
Availability
Homestay and Airport Pickup is available for students enrolling in the Intensive Grammar and Conversation course for Beginners or Intermediate/Advanced.
At this time, these services are not available with any other courses. The reason for this is that student housing is limited, and so the school can only provide it for full-time students.
About Homestay
Please be aware that when you enroll in homestay:
- Housing is provided on a first-enrolled, first served basis.
- Administrators will make every effort to place students in private rooms in houses near the school.
- At times, the only rooms available will be shared and/or may be located in houses farther away from the school.
- All houses are located in safe neighborhoods with trusted families or individuals.
- All houses are easily accessible by foot, or by bus, as the case may be.
Important: Houses are not hotels or resorts. Students will be expected to be courteous and act as they would as a guest in anyone's house, including:
- Pickup after yourself
- Conserve electricity and water
- Treat all family members and other guests with respect
- Obey all house rules
Families are not under the direction of the school, and may, at their discrection, kick students out for not adhering to house rules.
About Airport Pickup
Airport pickup is a bundled service along with Homestay. This decision was made to reduce the chance for confusion or other unforseen issues with new students navigating the airport, public transportation, and finding their way to the guest house.
While it may seem like an added cost, please be aware that the average taxi fare from the airport to a guest house is approximately $20 USD.
How It Works
An administrator will be waiting for you outside of baggage claim holding a sign with your name on it. You will then travel by private car to the guest house, where the administrator will get you checked in, and then show you how to get to the school your first day. The administrator will also be able to help you find your way to nearby stores, money exchange, etc.
